Convert iPhone HEIC/HEIF photos to JPG or PNG — batch convert, free, nothing uploaded.
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhones since iOS 11 — it compresses better than JPG, but most non-Apple software, websites, and older programs can't open it, which turns "just send me the photo" into a frustrating compatibility problem.
This converter uses a WebAssembly-based HEIC decoder running entirely in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded to a server — a meaningful difference from most HEIC converters, since photos often contain sensitive personal content.
HEIC compresses roughly twice as efficiently as JPG at the same visual quality, saving significant storage space — Apple made it the default format in iOS 11.
There's a small quality trade-off since JPG uses different compression, but at high quality settings the difference is generally not visible to the eye.
This converts the still HEIC image only — Live Photos also include a short video component that isn't part of the HEIC file itself.
